Located at the Tywyn Wharf terminus of the Talyllyn Railway, the Narrow Gauge Railway Museum is an important collection of over 1000 artefacts relating to Narrow Gauge Railways in the British Isles, throughout a period spanning some 200 years. The collection ranges from complete locomotives to smaller pieces such as paperwork, signalling equipment and tickets. As such, it is a unique and comprehensive record of these fascinating railways, nearly 90 of which are represented in the collection.
The links on the left lead to railways which are represented in our collections at Tywyn, except for "Off Site items", which are part of our collections but are housed elsewhere.
We are continually adding to our collections. If you would like to donate any object relevant to narrow gauge railways, please contact us by letter (address below) or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org . Please note that we are bound as an Approved Museum to only accept objects which are in accordance with our accession and disposal policy. Details available on request.
